ABSTRACT Matter in the Universe is arranged a cosmic web, with filament of matter typically connecting each neighbouring galaxy pair, separated by tens millions light-years. A quadrupolar pattern spin field around filaments known to influence spins galaxies and haloes near them, but it remains unknown whether themselves spin. Here, we measure dark velocities cosmological simulations, finding that generally rotates much faster than randomly located axis. It also exhibits some coherence along filament.
